Martin Bühler gewinnt den XContest 2012 - mit dem Icepeak 6!

Als erster Streckenflugpilot fliegt Martin Bühler hierzulande im September noch über 200km!

Dass er als erster Pilot überhaupt im September noch über 200km FAI flog war nur noch das Zückerchen auf dem Tortenstück. Den Icepeak 6 beschreibt er als "ausgewogen, überschaubar und unglaublich leistungsstark".

Bis Mitte Juli kam Martin Bühler gar nicht zum Fliegen. Umso höhere Wellen warfen dann aber seine Flüge, die er Wochenende für Wochenende aneinander reihte, bis er ganz oben auf dem Podest war. Das 256km FAI-Dreieck vom 26. Juli 2012 war nur der Anfang.

Im INTERVIEW gibt Martin Tipps für angehende Streckenflieger, erzählt wie er auch nach langen Flügen noch konzentriert bleibt und wie er den Umstieg auf den Icepeak 6 erlebt hat. Der Wettkampf war mit Top-Flügen aus Fiesch nach weniger als drei Monaten für den Liechtensteiner entschieden. Für Martin Bühler, der als Streckenflugcrack bekannt ist, war die Herausforderung entsprechend gross, weil zahlreiche andere Piloten schon tolle Flüge im Sack hatten. Dass er das Leiterchen aber noch ganz nach oben steigen würde, hatte er zu diesem Zeitpunkt selber noch nicht gedacht.

NIVIUK-Pilots very successful during the European Paragliding Championship 2012
Silver for the men, Gold and Bronze for the women!

The Swiss Pilot Regula Strasser received Bronze for her superb performance at the European Paragliding Championships! In the women's category, Nicole Fedele dominated the race and made the 1. Place on the podium!

Meanwhile, in the men’s category big congratulations to Xevi Bonet who managed to get the Silver medal. Xevi had an excellent competition winning the first task and keep fighting constantly with pilots at the top of the table. When learning the final result Xevi was seen to be very happy.

The European Paragliding Championship 2012 has ended with 6 tasks in which the Niviuk pilots have achieved magnificent results under the Icepeak 6!
Thanks to all the pilots for the trust in our products and your superior flights, with which the season in Europe has been spectacular!

Regula Strasser, Nanda Walliser und Michi Küffer siegen über die drei Tasks

Regula Strasser ist die neue Schweizermeisterin, dicht gefolgt von Nanda Walliser, die beide mit dem Icepeak 6 die obersten Podestplätze für sich sichern konnten.
NIVIUK Swiss Team - Pilot Michael Küffer konnte bei den Männern den hervorragenden 3. Platz erfliegen und rundet damit die Erfolgsgeschichte souverän ab. Besten Dank für das Vertrauen in unser Material und herzliche Gratulation die enorm starken fliegerischen Leistungen!

Regula Strasser ist damit zum 3. Mal in Folge Schweizermeisterin bei den Damen. Nanda Walliser konnte an ihren Erfolg an den letzten Wettkämpfen anknüpfen und bei den Tasks über 80, 100 und 120km ebefalls die Konkurrenz in Schach halten.
Michael Küffer, der bereits mehrmals im Streckenflug für Schlagzeilen sorgte, sagte nach dem Wettkampf: "Ja, es hat gerade alles gepasst!" und zeigt damit auch seine Fähigkeiten als Nachwuchswettkampfpilot - BRAVO!

Der Icepeak 6 setzt seinen Siegeszug fort!

Dominik Frei ist begeistert von seinem neuen Icepeak 6.23 - so begeistert, dass er ihm gleich ein eigenes Video widmet, nachdem er ihn zum ersten mal am Wettkampf erprobte und gleich vorne mitflog! Herzliche Gratulation und danke, Dominik!

Gleichzeitig gelang es Michael Küfer, den Swisscup vom 28. 05. 2012 für sich zu entscheiden. Auf Anhieb flog er auf den 1. Platz. Ein ebenfalls grosser Erfolg gelang Nanda Walliser, die am pre-PWC den super 3. Platz erflog, gleich hinter ihrer Teamkollegin Laurie Genovese(1. Platz) die ebenfalls einen NIVIUK Icepeak 6 flog. Gratulation!

It's sad that the weather was this bad, but the results are nevertheless very encouraging :

PWC Annecy : The prizegiving ceremony took place and it's officially over now. Congratulations to Joël Debons, who did an amazing job for the NIVIUK Swiss Team as a Member and Mentor in this Group!
Overall, we are proud, to have the ABAC-Team (NIVIUK factory team) as well on the podium and among the first 10 places 5 ICEPEAK 6!

New FAI-Worldrecord! - 269.30km (350.09 P.)

On the 11th of May, Thomas 'Kostair' takes off at 8:22 without expecting the day to become the date of a flight never before seen - the date for a World Record on the XContest in FAI-Triangle flying.

"Schon seit einigen Wochen habe ich einen Neuen Icepeak 6 bei mir zu Hause liegen, jedoch hat das Flugwetter diesen Frühling ungewohnt lange auf sich warten lassen... Nach einem ziemlich verblasenen Donnerstag im Prättigau, hat mich Michael Rohner überredet, am Freitag ebenfalls blau zu machen und mit Ihm nach Scuol zu fahren. Die Idee war eigendlich richtung Bormio zu fliegen. Die Mangelnde Arbeitshöhe, der viele Schnee und der Südwind im Oberengadin haben uns jedoch bewogen, uns über den Albulapass richtung Norden blasen zu lassen. Somit war Plan B angesagt, der doch auch nicht so schlecht rausgekommen ist ;-)... Vom Icepeak 6 bin ich beeindrukt und nach diesem sehr windigen Tag, weiss ich, die richtige Gleitschirm Wahl für diese Saison getroffen zu haben.."
"Es kommt nun noch darauf an, wie gerwertet wird, ob der bisherige Rekord um eine gewisse Anzahl Kilometer getoppt werden muss" sagt Thomas Koster im Interview. "Aber heute hat einfach alles zusammengepasst. Sicher auch mit dem Material, das wirklich ungeschlagen ist. Der Icepeak 6 fliegt extrem gut!" meint er bescheiden, zu seiner unglaublichen Leistung.

Merci pour la super offre sur la voile. Vous pouvez sans autres mentionner que je me suis décidé à voler sous l’IP6 en cross cette saison. Comme j’ai déjà expliqué à Patrick, je suis encore quelque peu lié à Advance, puisqu’ils me mettent toujours à disposition une sellette et d’autre matos. Faut voir ce qui va se passer cette saison...
Depuis quelques semaines, cette IP6 attend tranquillement chez moi que la météo veuille bien s’améliorer... Après un jeudi bien ventilé au Prättigau, Michael Rohner m’a convaincu d’aller avec lui à Scuol. L’idée était de voler vers Bormio. Mais le manque de plaf, le vent et la neige en haute Engadine nous ont obligés à nous laisser pousser vers le nord par le col de l’Albula. Nous avons donc activé le Plan B... Qui n’a pas trop mal fini ! =) Je suis impressionné par cette IP6 ! Après ce vol très ventilé, je sais que j’ai choisi la bonne aile pour cette saison!

Thomas Koster (kostair) berichtet auf xcontest.ch mit folgenden Sätzen, die nicht darauf schliessen würden, dass er gerade einen neuen Weltrekord aufgestellt hat: "Heute das Tasksetting dem Wind angepasst. Ausser dass wir am Morgen früh mit dem Zug versehentlich fast wieder durch den Vereina zurückgefahren sind und dass es ab Landeck eine etwas sehr windige Angelegenheit war, hatte ich zum Glück keine grösseren Baustellen heute...."

Since a few weeks, an IP6 is waiting impatiently at home for better weather... After a windi Thursday in Prättigau, Michael Rohner convinced me to go with him to Scuol. The idea was to fly towards Bormio. But because of the too low cloud base, the wind and the snow in High Engadin, we had to let ourselves be blown northwards through the Albula Pass. We then activated Plan B... Which ended pretty well ! =)
I’m impressed by the Icepeak 6 ! After this windy flight, I know that I made the right glider choice for this season !

Emanuelle won the Paragliding World Cup Brazil Castello 2012 as the best female Pilot overall! We are proud and send her our best wishes for the amazing result and the further flights. Thank you, Emma, great job!!

After 3 valid tasks of 50, 72 and 62km, the female Swiss Team Pilot Emanuelle Guglielmetti could make the race. Thanks for showing us again, what is possible with the Icepeak 6.

Pour vous faire encore plus languissante - Le texte sur la Icepeak 6

Déco:
Très homogène (par rapport à une 2 lignes Open par exemple) mais néanmoins une montée bien franche avec une légère tendance à dépasser sans arracher.

En thermique:
Elle transmet bien mais sans secouer le pilote excessivement. Elle donne ce feeling très direct d'une 2 lignes, mais mêlé avec ce sentiment de tranquillité qu'on avait sous les "anciennes" EN D. Elle est donc sympa comme une Peak 3 ; mais avec une transmission plus expressive, plutôt proche de celle de l'IP5.
Sa commande est bien ferme et on sent beaucoup de choses par les variations de pression. Le pilotage à la sellette est très efficace, et on peut beaucoup la ralentir pour enrouler les petits noyaux teigneux. Elle a en outre tendance à toujours recentrer le thermique seule. Dailleurs pour la petite histoire : un pote réglait sa sellette en vol samedi, simplement penché d'un côté pour accéder aux sangles qu'il réglait, et quand il a eu fini il fût surpris de constater qu'il était passé 100 mètres sur le déco sans rien faire!
En tout cas ce compromis est diablement efficace: Le weekend passé, nous étions 3 IP6 à voler ensemble et à tous les coups après le déco nous sommes montés droit à travers la grappe et n'avons plus vu personne pendant le reste du vol.

En transition:
C'est clairement là que c'est le plus incroyable: Elle a tout les éléments qui ont fait le bonheur des pilotes de 2 lignes pre-piedrahita. Pour résumer elle a surtout une performance et une vitesse bluffantes (analogues à celles de l'IP5). Elle donne ce sentiment des 2 lignes Open que tout est "tendu à bloc", et qui manquait quelque peu à la Peak 3 par exemple (c'est tellement jouissif ces transitions!). Mais malgré ça on sent bien que c'est une vraie EN D : Elle permet bien d'anticiper ses mouvements, même avec du barreau. Par contre c'est sûr qu'accéléré à fond ça reste une machine de course: Ce n'est pas qu'elle soit méchante, mais vu qu'elle vole très vite, une grosse fermeture ne pourrait être anticipée qu'avec peu d'avance et serait donc certainement sport à gérer. Le 3e barreau est donc à réserver aux pilotes bien vigousses.

Atterro:
RAS appart que comme une 2 ligne Open il faut se forcer à venir TRES bas en finale, sous sanction de traverser l'atterro et finir aux vaches...

Conclusion:
Je suis fan. C'est clairement la voile la plus jouissive qu'il m'ait été donné de piloter : Elle reprend vraiment le meilleur de 2 mondes (les END normales et les 2 lignes Open), avec très peu de leurs désavantages respectifs.
Jusque là j'étais clairement contre l'interdiction des voiles Open, mais vu le jouet qu'Oli nous a dessiné mon avis est dorénavant beaucoup plus nuancé!

The NIVIUK Swiss team 2012 have met on the 10th of December in Vionnaz for a nice day flying and dining. We have flown the new wing for the comp season, the Icepeak6, now certified EN-D. The pilots who flew were impressed by its easy handling and top performance. Lets discover this in Mexico...

The July / August edition of the respected French paragliding magazine “Parapente+” contains a very interesting and comprehensive article about the Peak 3. As usual the independent review carried out by Parapente+ was written with integrity and in great detail.

In this test, Noël Bertrand highlights the wide and varying range of speeds which can be obtained by whilst using the speed system, the precision of turns, the efficiency when climbing and the general outstanding performance of the Peak 3 overall.

The article concludes by detailing the excellent build quality, attention to detail and the overall high standard of finish on the Peak 3.

N-GRAVITY 2 - acro glider no-gravity coming 2012!

The long awaited successor to the very successful N-Gravity will be avaliable form summer 2012. The new N-Gravity 2 designed specifically for the very experienced Acro pilot will be available this month. With calculated pilot control the reaction of the wing to every input is immediate and precise and with constant internal wing pressure being maintained the N Gravity 2 allows new and creative manoeuvres to be explored and invented with confidence.

The N-Gravity 2 is produced in three sizes, 17, 18 and 19 metres.

Swiss pilot Lionel Hercod on his N-Gravity 2 took silver in the 2011 Swiss National Acro Championship which was held in Walensee from 1st – 4th September.
